The Fever tree had a very distinctive yellow trunk which is covered with a fine dust. It got its name from pioneers who believed the tree caused fevers. The fever, Malaria, was caused by mosquitoes that bred in the swampy fever tree habitat.
The bark of the Fever tree is used as a traditional medicine for treating fevers & eye infections. The roots are powdered for treating Malaria.
