Red Kite

Red Kite - BIRDS & INSECTS
The red kite is a medium large bird of prey, which was once on the brink of extinction. In 30 years the UK now has 10% of the entire world population. They are an important species as they are mostly scavengers feeding on animals that have mostly died, however they also hunt rodents & small animals. They have been successfully reintroduced in Wales & Bucks, gradually spreading further afield to Oxford, Glos & as of last summer, Ealing, West London!
